Observation notes: It was cool out, about 8°C. First saw the moth with wings open and vibrating quickly (as if to produce body heat) on the bricks of my house. N facing. First saw it around 2:35am but it was still there for me to take the photo using a UV light at 4:35am.
As long as the backyard halogen lights were on the moth rested in the wings-closed position, if I turned them off, the moth would immediately begin to quickly vibrate its wings.
