Observation notes: warm sunny day in low-mid 60s, flying low to ground and feeding in ridgetop meadow, plant is sanicula arctopoides (footsteps of spring). The bottom one flew to the plant second, while the first (top) was on the flower, landed below , walked up to the side of the other one, backed up and attached, watched them together, stationary, for several minutes.
