Observation notes: Piutes for sure, but did not note the exact location. Was setting up field survey routes along French Meadow - Alaska Flat Road. I hope these other images make it more clear. And the date was May not March

This looks like either Erynnis persius or pacuvius lilius and there are only 2 records for persius in Kern County: Delano and near Tiger Flat in the Greenhorns. And was that this year or 2004? Get back to me, any other photos of this?-Ken Davenport Thanks! I had the first record for pacuvius for Kern County in the Piutes also in 1978 identified by John Burns. Thanks, the March date for a pacuvius was not believable.-Ken
