Coordinator notes: I was checking on the various species of Hypsoropha, especially due to the nearest records of H. monilis being NE Oklahoma and NW Missouri, but this is definitely Hypsoropha monilis. So you are correct, this is a state record for species in Kansas and shows just how far west it occurs in our state. I also believe it is a resident rather than a stray from condition and because so many moths ranges are not fully known. Good record! Thanks, JAMES STEEN
