Observation notes: Seen flitting around Sunflower and Tobacco Tree in an area bordering on both chaparral and riparian flora. Note that the photograph captured what appears to be an iridescent feature to the wings I have not seen before. The weather was typical late May with coastal overcast threatening to overtop otherwise clear skies. Temps mid 60's with slight breeze.
