Observation notes: I've seen common sootywings here, so I'm guessing that is most likely, but a couple of these views show the wing veins to be black instead of brown. It might be impossible to tell, but it was nice to get some ventral shots.

Coordinator notes: this is an odd-looking thing, especially that coppery stripe across the wings. what is that? black legs can mean Mexican, but when the ventral hindwing surface is well lit(?) I see brown not iridescent blue. so I can't call it Mexican. maybe next time.
