Observation notes: Uncertain of sub-species of Orangetip. Found feeding on rockcress adjacent to the hiking trail near the parking lot trailhead to Rancheria Falls. Sunny, breezy, 73F temp. Elev. 7,600 ft. +/-. This is an area of the Sierra National Forest that did not burn in the devastating 2020 Creek Fire.

Coordinator notes: It is possible that it could be Anthocharis julia stella but we would need to see a series of individuals to establish that julia in anywhere in Fresno County, they are in nearby Madera County and should be in Fresno County. Sometimes photographs need to be substantiated with actual specimens to do DNA-genomic testing-Ken Davenport
