Tawny-edged Skipper
Polites themistocles

Observation date: June 13, 2024
Submitted by: Cascade Colors
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The contrast between upper and lower wings seems less than other Tawny-edges I've seen and photographed, so I was leaning towards European but obviously I'm not sure. The coloration doesn't seem to match that of Dun, and the spotting seems too minimal/non-existent to be Woodland. Garita Skipperling may also be possible?
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: Tawny-edged skipper...European is about the same size and might be in that area...it feeds on Timothy Grass (but possible others that are similar or related). Mike
