Observation notes: This was at dusk. Didn't see where it came from; was on my jeans. Didn't seem able to fly; walked around on me, occasionally beating its wings. It made its way to my back and it eventually took flight. Fast in flight and noisy (kind of a "buzz"). Very striking creature. Just over 2.5" long.
