Observation notes: Seen flying among Flat-top Buckwheat at a chaparral-covered hilltop (1300 feet) - in hills separating the coastal mesas from the interior valleys of San Diego County. Aware that this is much further south and west than expected for this sp., but the forewing fringe is completely back, as opposed to alternating black/white. There are other markings that are more in line with E. battoides than E. bernardino, for instance the larger outer hindwing submarginal black dots, and the thicker orange band, penetrating those dots.
Day was warm and (relatively) humid, clear, with slight gusts of ocean breeze.

Coordinator notes: Confirming Euphilotes battoides is in San Diego County would require collecting a series of adults. It is possible but John Emmel had no such records to deal with. Bernardino and glaucon can fly together in some places...I had both on the Sherman Pass Rd. yesterday-Ken Davenport
