Observation notes: There were many of these feasting on flower-filled meadows. There were often 3 to 5 butterflies at a single bloom. They went both to thistle and to yellow flowers.

Coordinator notes: this is endemic subspecies capitanensis. the yellow flower is cutleaf coneflower, very attractive to butterflies.
