Mormon Fritillary
Speyeria mormonia

Observation date: July 31, 2024
Submitted by: Cascade Colors
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: A very pale one if so. Please note in previous years I've gone to this location and submissions were rejected due to incorrect county....all I can do is select on the map roughly where I am (and per the map, my location is accurate); it's on the Milner pass trail coming up from the W side of of RMNP (trailhead begins at Milner Pass trailhead / Poudre Lake right on Hwy 34), before reaching the Alpine Visitor's Center at the very top. At this location it very well may be the west side of the divide.

Coordinator notes: I agree with your suggested ID and with the altitude of the site...a male...it's pale because it has been on the wing a long time and is very flight worn. Mike
