Coordinator notes: Between this species and Pontia protodice, it can be tricky to separate them both in appearance, needing at times location and elevation to help. I used to catch Pontia occidentalis in Kern County CA, east slope of the Sierra's. This specimen is pretty fresh and sighted at nearly 9000ft so I'm confident it is Pontia occidentalis, a female. Thanks, JAMES STEEN
