Observation notes: Large caterpillar, smooth brick red color with short round dark tuffs. Couldn't determine how many prolegs. Found in a pine and fir area with open fields nearby gravel trail, the subject was moving out of the sun and not feeding at the time. Other plants: Vine maple, snowberry, tall native grasses, cord grass.
