Delaware Skipper
Anatrytone logan
Observation date: August 07, 2024
Submitted by: Lisahug
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I know that this would be unusual for this area. This could also be an Orange Skipperling , or something else. I am not confident to say for sure what it is. But it seems to fit Garita the best. I am uploading lots of photos but I never could get a photo of the upperside, just hints of what it could be. I have more photos than what I am uploading if you want. In a meadow, lots of grasses scattered with low shrubs, few flowers. On the edge of the area that is being restored to prairie.

Coordinator notes: I'm leaning towards a faded Delaware skipper with the inner tip black margins and then the median dark spot. The wing shape isn't right for orange skipperling and the coloration is off for Garita skipperling. It could be an Arogos skipper, but the fringe/veining doesn't seem white enough.
