Observation notes: This branded skipper just looked different. It was ID on iNaturalist as a Common Branded Hesperia colorado ssp. ochracea. It was seen between Sedalia and Deckers, Colorado on Hwy 67 in a meadow on Sugar Creek.

Coordinator notes: Yes, Western Branded Skipper (ssp. ochracea) is correct...there is a considerable amount of variation in the population you photographed. The macular band on some have white but not silvered spots while others have buff or yellowish ones or even cast with a lot of black scales. I collected in that area many times over the years through the 1980's...my first visit was in 1969. Mike
