Observation notes: Sagebrush /rabbitbrush/ dry habitat - the underwing pattern seems close to the Western Branded, but the strong white spots carrying over into the upperwing confused me. Thought another possibility could be Nevada based on habitat and a few photos in bamona I saw of it, but in reading some comments it seems Nevada has black bordering around the white spots which I don't really see here. Thought the bands were too "symmetrical" and connected to be pahaska (and probably too late in season too?)

Coordinator notes: Western Branded Skipper is the correct ID...you will not find the Nevada Skipper this time of the year...it flies in June-July mostly and the macular band spots on the underside of the hindwings is usually much more fragmented looking, less uniformly in-line and most spots deeply toothed.
