Observation notes: I am guessing here. Maybe a female Hydaspe Fritillary? Marys Peak, Parker Creek Falls. Roadside waterfall, riparian road cut. Butterfly nectaring on Clasping-leaf Arnica. There were eight Fritillaries nectaring on these flowers, not sure they were all the same species, this was the only one I got dorsal and ventral photos. Very intent on nectaring and occasionally displacing each other on a particularly favored blossom.
