Observation notes: Four individuals were observed in the vicinity of the type locality south of Las Cruces, NM. Only one could be approached to collect the photo-documentation images herein; they perched on low-growing range ratany shrubs that are still dormant (no flowering plants occur at this time in the habitat due to winter-long drought conditions). The afternoon was hot, windy, and under full sun
