Observation date: July 09, 2024
Submitted by: Joshua C
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Very fresh individual feeding on Achilleum, which seems to be the favorite nectar plant of the Anicias at Hopewell Lake. The ones I saw there looked about the same as the ones I saw at Wheeler Peak despite the elevation and habitat differences.

Coordinator notes: they like to perch on inflorescences that contrast with, and thus show off, their black/red colors. and yes, their phenotypes are not particularly distinctive, in my opinion as well.
