Observation date: October 19, 2011
Submitted by: Jerry Friedman
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Sunny, unseasonably warm day. The moth was holding still or crawling on low vegetation and the ground. When sufficiently disturbed it flew, landing close to where it took off from.
William H. Taft commented at BugGuide, "I believe it is a female Z. canescens. I appears freshly emerged so the moth always look a little different than specimens that are several days old."
