Observation notes: Observed in morning (09:00) on the stump of a post oak that had been cut several weeks earlier. In association with many hackberry butterflies. Location is in a clearing in Oak/Ash/Hackberry/Elm woods, dominated by Post Oak with understory of Possomhaw Holly, Black Cherry, Rusty Blackhaw, American Beautyberry, and some hickory.
