Observation notes: Host plant was Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa). This is not the normal host plant for this caterpillar but oleander does not grow as far north as Michigan. The Oleander Aphid often feeds on milkweed so it isn't a big surprise for this caterpillar to also. The toxins in oleander and milkweed are similar.
