Coordinator notes: Lapara species. Both L. bombycoides and L. coniferarum may be present at this locale. L. coniferarum is more restricted to pitch pine barrens in Maine and is less common than L. bombycoides. The larvae of the two species are rather similar and usually it it necessary to see the coloration of the true legs in order to differentiate. I really cannot say for certain which Lapara species, but L. bombycoides would be more likely. R. St. Laurent
