Observation notes: While I was resting against a boulder by a cascading stream, I noticed this serene individual finding respite from the dry heat of 2012. Location: Cedar Bluffs State Preserve. Weather/Conditions: hot (only slightly under 100 °F), with clear blue skies up above the dense forest. Surprisingly, this was one of at least nine White M Hairstreaks I encountered during my mid-day walk along woodland trails here.
