Observation notes: Caterpilar observed in Aliso Viejo, CA 92656. Sunny day. 75F degrees. Caterpillar rolled into a circle briefly when disturbed. When rolled up, the caterpillar, did not wrap back around itself - it was a head to toe connection. Nearest plants are the front lawn and neighboring small shrubs.

Coordinator notes: Orgyia probably vetusta, but the "Orgyia vetusta complex, has in California at least three species for which the taxonomy remains somewhat uncertain" (from MPG).
