Coordinator notes: I am excited to see another April sighting of istar for this part of TX. I caught one at light in Bexar Co. in April 1972 when I was a kid. Most all the records of this species are in July-August, coinciding with the monsoon rains from Trans-Pecos TX to NM and AZ. Tuttle (2007) in "The Hawkmoths of North America" states that istar is univoltine in its range. However, since there are April and July records for central and west-central TX where the summer monsoon season does not typically occur, this may mean that istar is bivoltine or perhaps has an extended emergence in spring-summer in this area. I will check with BAMONA to see why the new genus name Lintneria is not being used on the site. Stewart Tomlinson
