Observation notes: Dozens of tiny (1.5-2 inch) black and white butterflies flitting along gravel bed of alpine lake and stream among stumps, brush, rotting stumps, logs and standing coniferous 2nd growth forest - spruce and/or pine. Sunny, 22 degrees Celcius, no wind. Photos of basking pair.
