Identification: Forewing dark brown with irregular white patch half-way along inner margin, usually extending about half-way across wing (amount of white is variable, ranging from none to completely crossing the wing); black streak runs on either side of white patch from base of wing to anal angle; paler reddish-yellow shading in upper half of subterminal area; hindwing light brownish-gray with dark veins and discal lunule; fringe pale.
