Identification: Forewing white with pale green bands and irregular black lines and spots. Hindwing grayish with faint lines in outer half.
Wing Span: 2.5-3 cm.
Life History:
Flight: April-May; into June northward.
Caterpillar Hosts: Alders, birches, maples, and willows.

Habitat:
Range: Newfoundland to Virginia, west to western Ontario, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. Historical records from Texas.
