Subfamily: Arctiinae
Identification: Easily identified by the bright red body and transparent wings. Metallic blue middorsal line on abdomen broadens to cover tip. Veins and margins of forewing and hindwing are black.
Wing Span: 3-3.5 cm.
Life History:
Flight: All year in southern Florida.
Caterpillar Hosts: Climbing hempweed.
