Subfamily: Ennominae
Identification: Wings slightly translucent, cream to mouse gray. Hindwing has a small tooth at outermargin. Lines brown, sharp, sometimes shaded with darker brown on sides of median area. Pm. line strongly bent on all wings.
Wing Span: 3.2-4.5 cm.
Life History:
Flight: August-October.
Caterpillar Hosts: Firs, hemlocks, oaks, and spruces.

Range: Labrador to South Carolina and Mississippi, west across Canada, south to Texas.
